Ways to Boost Employee Morale

One of the best ways to boost employee morale is to really get everyone involved. We currently have spirit days on Fridays where we ususally wear red for our troops. I think it would be a great idea to have a 50's, 60's and 70's day at work in which all the drivers would dress accordingly. It would even be great to let the schools know and maybe have the teachers participate. It could be really fun for the drivers. Who wouldn't love wearing poodle skirts or going retro with 60's and 70's outfits? There are many stores that sell the clothes on a regular basis not to mention how so many of those styles have come back into style. Some people might have those same clothes in their closet. I had a 50's dance for my son's 6th grade class and all of the students really loved it. So many of the girls came in their poodle skirts and they were really cute!

Be respectful

The best way to boost employee morale is to be respectful of the employees. If you respect them, they will respect you back. It is always important to show your employees how much they mean to you. Respect is the most important thing you can give to another person.

Recognize birthdays

It will make everyone feel special on their birthday, or at least in their birthday month. I think that I could take it upon myself to put up a big sign for everyone's birthday. I have a list of all the driver's birthdays in my computer system so it would be so easy to pull all of their birthdays and make each one feel special.

How to Boost Employee Morale

This year our Superintendent asked the entire district to read a book on Disney's success. It was called Inside the Magic Kingdom: Seven Keys to Disney's Success.

It was all about how everyone at Disney takes the extra steps to ensure that everyone has a good time while at the Magic Kingdom. So at Transportation we now have a saying about "putting on your ears." We are trying to do everything we can to improve our customer service within the community by going that extra mile every chance that we get.

Within the Transportation department, we are also trying to improve our customer service by boosting employee morale. One of the ways we can do that is by publicly honoring our employees's of the month. We are going to meet the drivers at the school's and honor them in front of all of the driver's, the teachers and the parents. We want the community to know that we appreciate our drivers.
